Mentalist, CBS series ending its second season. Patrick Jayne (Simon Baker) is a consultant to investigative unit of California Bureau of Investegation. Jayne's background is uncertain, early life as a carny grifter and having his wife and daughter murdered by the evil mastermind, Red John, are our only certainties. Jayne uses mentalist's techniques to interogate suspects and witnesses and the traditional minded investigators of his bureau think their just tricks and chicanery that are not useful for legitimate and proper investigations.

been watching for a while---very cool show (but have to chide Tam from gushing over Baker).
