just found this little topic...

My name is Ed, I live near Buffalo, NY; married, (1) 3 1/2 yr old son. I am pretty much a recovering deadhead *he-he*, I am a big fantasy & sci/fi fan.

LOTR is my all time fav series, but have been sucked into the Land again recently & not made to much conversation in the LOTR realm.

SRD is my 2nd fav *earthy blushes*, followed by .....Tad Williams - read his books & post in my forum!!! *earthy blushes again at his shameless plug*

I love to read, cook & watch fantasy, sci/fi & action films (Steven Segal rules!).

I am a 22-year-old female computer science student from Finland. I'm into reading (fantasy, science fiction, horror), writing, computers, and visual arts. I hope to some day write something worth of publishing. I also roleplay.

I fly for an airline in Atlanta. My wife is from Nicaragua, and we have two kids (one adopted). Education was in math, aerodynamics, and flight test technology.

Favorite things to do include flying small planes, reading, and admiring my wife.

You have a very nice message board here, especially the Lewis forum. Very nice people here.

Nice to see some more people telling about themselves.

Imhoram, I haven't looked lately, but I believe Sky may have a prodigious essay about himself on his ezboard profile...at least he did when I first met him.

Ya, Sky's profile has a lot of stuff about Skyweir, I was just playing, anyway! He whose desires have been throttled,
who is independent of root,
whose pasture is emptiness-
signless and free-
his path is as unknowable
as the of birds across the heavens.

Hi, my "real" name is Rachel and I'm 12. I live in Hickville, Tennessee. I don't really do much. I read almost 24/7, and I write Sci-fi/fantasy novels. I have almost no friends in the "real world", and I'm paranoid that aliens are coming to freeze and carbonize me. I'm completely insane. I'm also addicted to discussion forums. *hehehe*

Don't put yourself down, Turiya! Is it realy Hickville??

BTW, just for the record, my name's Dave, and I live outside of Boston. I think anything else you may need to know is in my profile.. He whose desires have been throttled,
who is independent of root,
whose pasture is emptiness-
signless and free-
his path is as unknowable
as the of birds across the heavens.

Well, as most of you probably already know, my real name is Kay, I live in a nice little town near Ann Arbor, Michigan, I'm in my 30's, married, and have two sons, one a freshman in high school, and the other in fifth grade. And I have a dog and two cats. I think the other stuff like hobbies and whatnot is in my profile here or at the Watch. My real name is John, and I live in a small town 60 miles north of Chicago (almost in Wisconsin). The train ride downtown to my office gives me enough time for reading, generally alternating between sf/fantasy and history. I'm 40, not married, no children.

I'm interested in astronomy (Apollo 11 landed on the moon on my birthday, so it would be surprising if I wasn't) , and photography. I'll add additional information on my other activities someday on my profile.

Damelon, have u checked out the Atlas of the Universe in Pelablinka: Science & Tech and Duchesses "Stargazing" thread there? And now Danlo looked in that direction, too. He remembered that snowy owls mate in the darkest part of deep winter, and so along with this beautiful white bird perched in a tree a hundred feet away, he turned to face the sea as he watched and waited.

Ahira, Ahira, he called out silently to the sky. Ahira, Ahira

Damelon, have you been to Adler Planetarium in Chicago? Next time we go there (not sure when since my vacation request for a long weekend this summer was denied ) we want to go there! Last summer we went to Shedd, Field, and took an architectural tour boat ride. This summer we were going to do Adler, the art museum, and Navy Pier -- if we could go, which now we won't be able to. :"> Our lives are the songs that sing the universe into existence.~David Zindell
