Here are some of my favorite reads of the year 2006. This does not mean that they are all time favorites. It does not even mean that they were published in 2006. It only means that I read these books and especially liked them in the year 2006. This is an updated list sicne I posted it first over at the Watch.

The three Novik books (three more to go before the series is complete) are very fun and quick reads - charming and lots of adventure.

Since the Zindell, Donaldson, and Martin are not out yet, you might want to go for those as well as the Bakker first. I think you will love R. Scott Bakker.

And if you get a chance - try new science fiction writer John Scalzi. I cannot say enough good things about his books - and they are fun. quick reads, too! Old Man's War made me laugh, cry, and think. ******************************************************
