Jack is the master of cool...got 2 b my fav actor--Mickey Rourke comes close but no 1, imo, is as cool as Jack. Nicholas Cage is pretty dam cool too... I'll start off the Jack attack w/ my Top Ten:
1. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
2. As Good as it Gets
3. Five Easy Pieces
4. The Shining
5. Chinatown
6. A Few Good Men
7. Terms of Endearment
8. The Border
9. The King of Marvin Gardens
10. Easy Rider
Witches of Eastwick, The Missouri Breaks and The Pledge, too! Crossing Guard very good 2 Sean Penn is a hell of a director--loved The Game w/Michael Douglass that he directed!

Mickey Rourke is one of my all time favs, I don't kno y, he's kinda slimy but so, so cool (until lately when he let his boxing career and steriods use got outta hand) here r my favs w/some co-stars:
1. Angel Heart (DeNiro)
2. Wild Orchid
3. Barfly (Dunaway)
4. Rumble Fish (Cage)
5. The Pope of Greenwich Village
6. Year of the Dragon
7. 9 and 1/2 Weeks (Bassinger)
8. Johnny Handsome
9. Homeboy (great soundtrack by Eric Clapton)
10. White Sands (DeFoe)
The Last Ride and Sin City. Also very memorable as the "mad bomber" in Body Heat.

Nicholas Cage got his start in Rumble Fish w/Rourke and having an uncle named Francis Ford Coppola probably didn't hurt:
1. Captain Corelli's Mandolin
2. Windtalkers
3. Moonstruck
4. Raising Arizona
5. Leaving Las Vegas
6. Wild at Heart
7. Red Rock West
8. Peggy Sue Got Married
9. Racing with the Moon
10. Con Air
Married Man, The Rock, Face/Off & Rumble Fish...

I think Sir Ian McClellan played Gandalf--never seen Potter...

Since u mentioned Bruce Willis it got me thinkin' of a top ten list 4 him and 2 other great actors: Harrison Ford and Mel Gibson.

Bruce Willis Top Ten:
1. The Sixth Sense
2. The Fifth Element
3. The Color of Night (Tamara's all time fav!)
4. Blind Date (absolutely hilarious)
5. Bandits
6. The Jackal
7. 12 Monkeys
8. Mercury Rising
9. In Country
10. Die Hard
Sorry-great cast but didn't like Armageddon, worst Willis: Striking Distance. Great Willis movies that didn't make it in but I def recommend watching: The Whole 9 Yards, The Kid, Hart's War, Last Man Standing & Unbreakable

Harrison (Hans Solo is my hero!) Ford Top Ten:
1. Blade Runner
2. The Empire Strikes Back
3. Witness
4. Patriot Games
5. Raiders of the Lost Ark
6. What Lies Beneath
7. Pressumed Innocent
8. Frantic
9. The Mosquito Coast
10. The Conversation
Was'nt totally impressed by Air Force 1, worst Ford: Hanover Street. Great Ford movies that didn't make it in but I def recommend watching: The Fugitive, Regarding Henry, Clear and Present Danger, Working Girl & Force 10 From Navarone.

Mel Gibson Top Ten List:
1. Braveheart (Hoot Mon!)
2. The Year of Living Dangerously
3. Signs (and it hasn't even come out yet!)
4. What Women Want (so silly!)
5. The Man w/o a Face
6. Tequila Sunrise
7. Ransom
8. Forever Young
9. Lethal Weapon
10. Gallipoli
Thought Bird on a Wire was a little corny, worst Gibson: Million Dollar Hotel. Great Gibson movies that didn't make it in but I def recommend watching: The Patriot, Road Warrior, Conspriacy Theory, The Bounty & Mrs Soffel.

Don't forget David Duchovny! There cannot be an actors thread without a mention of David.

Sky & I were chatting about The Mothman Prophesies, that we both watched over the weekend, on the Movies thread and while we both REALLY liked the movie--Sky's not all that crazy about Richard Gere-so, 4 some odd reason, I decided 2 place my rebuttal/agreement here on the Actor's page. W/the xception of Mr. Jones, 1 of the best movies ever made, the "vehicle" of the movie has made Gere's career, not the other way around. His acting wasn't bad @ all in Sommersby and An Officer and a Gentleman--but it may have something 2 do with his eyes that make him seem a little flat. His eyes always seem 2 b half closed like he's smirking @ u w/ this "I'm beyond u, I know I'm a star" kinda punky attitude. I was blown away by his performance in Mr. Jones and he did an admirable job in The Mothman Prophesies--but again it's more of the "vehicle" of the movies that make his career. Maybe, like Keanu Reeves is, he just plain lucky (or smart, who knos) he gets great scripts and great co-stars. Take Mothman 4 xample: it's the plot that freaks us out and holds our attention much more than Gere's acting--thrown in some fine performances by Laura Linney, and especially Will Patton--and boom great movie. In An Officer and a Gentleman we have a very good script w/killer performances by Debra Winger, David Keith and Louis Gosset Jr. Sommersby was a great story, and Gere's character was 1 of the best things in the movie, but an all-star cast made it so. Pretty Woman: Julia Roberts made the movie what it was, sometimes I even 4get Gere was in it. American Gigilo: Lauren Hutton, good story, but I always 4get Gere was in that movie I always think it's some other, semi-unimpressive, actor like Mark Harmon. Well u get the ideal..B4 I finish let me back up Sky's opinion a little more: Gere went along way in making Mr. Jones great, but remember it was XTREMELY well writen, great cinematography, great direction, very good soundtrack & Lena Olin's acting was outstanding (not 2 hard on the eyes either, grrrrr...). Don't get me wrong I think Richard Gere is a very good actor--like in that wild movie where Edward Norton stole the show, playing the MPD kid-murderer and he played the Atty. (name escapes me right now) I just don't think he's a great actor-i.e: some1 like Harrison Ford or Sean Connery who commands the screen. LOL, thanks for coming to my rescue, danlo! The only other movie I've seen DD in is Evolution, which wasn't the greatest movie I've ever seen...but I plan to watch other DD movies someday. Anyway, the X-Files is (or was, I guess) where he really got to flex his acting muscles, so to speak...partly because he and Gillian Anderson have such incredible chemistry. They can both convey so much in a single glance...far more than if they used words. If Sky didn't live halfway around the world, I'd come over with a stack of X-Files tapes and show him what I mean...
