Yep, that is one of the freakiest spider pics I have ever seen. If I saw that thing anywhere near me, I'd be fleeing for my life. The shotgun is all yours, duchess! Good luck!

I don't think I'd pick it up in my hand, but otherwise it doesn't bother me. (Spides and snakes and whatnot generally don't.) The aussies have got one real nasty spider though...mandibles so big it can drive them through your toenail. Now that's scary.
