I'm exhausted just reading your description of the software/hardware hoops you had to jump through, MsMary... ******************************************************

The best thing about having broadband is that it no longer takes hours to download things like printer software or Apple security updates. <i></i>

Indeed, Damelon. I would love to get it, but my husband is very resistant, due to the extremely low cost of our dial-up.

Also, a lot of people around here lost dsl and cable modem service for quite a while after Hurricane Wilma, but as long as our phone was working, we could still get on the internet, once we had electrical power back. Though, if AOL is really offering free dial-up service, maybe that won't be such a problem. "Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker?"<i></i>

Computers. Sometimes they work. Sometimes they don't. Nobody knows why.

I've told my story on the Watch about how freaking Norton antivirus came with my new comp and after the trial year ended and I wouldn't subscribe it ran a hidden broken renew tape loop for a year and a half, which in two days (if not caught by the wizard Phorist) would have suffocated all my memory.

So (long sentence  ) we've learned two things
a) never use or patronize Norton
b) check for memory capacity every other month or so

I've voiced my own displeasure several times at KW about Norton products. I despise Norton. Norton antivirus is just a bloated resource hog that thinks it owns your computer. I've been saying to anyone who'd listen to just scrap Norton and get a FREE (for non-commercial use) antivirus program, like AVG, which I've used for years now and am very satisfied with.

Good going, danlo! I need to get more memory myself, what with the large digital photo files I work with now.
