Ipods are great in concept. Ipods are cute little toys. Ipods are of great value to music lovers. Unfortunately, in my experience, ipods are pieces of junk!! My older son wanted an ipod for his combined birthday/Christmas gift a couple of years back. We had to replace it twice because it would just stop working. Now it is off warranty, and is stuck in disk mode. We have tried everything short of throwing it against the wall! We tried everything to get it out of disc mode. We googled and tried all sorts of advice, short of throwing it against the wall. I finally broke down and got him a new one. I was going to get a nano, but that seemed silly - a 30gig ipod cost only $50 more than the nano, so I just got him another ipod.
