I thought this deserves it's own topic... plus there doesn't seem to be much traffic here so another topic will give people something more to read.

If their not gonna link the similarities are dissapointing as you'de think he could come up with some new stuff... but at the same time I am enjoying the EA cycle immensly and the quality and scope of the story makes up for the re using of names and places etc.

Anyway:

Yarkona - A place in the neverness univers and a country in EA

Hunnu - A character we all know from Reqiuem and and one of the lightstone guards in EA

The beautiful bird riddle - Used in both books... more os in requiem obviously

The Vild - Used in both books, is a kind of place between worlds where the lokaliani live in EA

The Ieldra

Bardo and Maram are very similar as are Danlo and Valashu (but this has been mentioned)

Thats all I can think of so far, I;m half way through the lord of lies so there may be more.
Anyone know when the next book is out?

Cam

I'm just starting the Lightstone-about 100 pages in. I really like it and I really don't mind the similar references-there's so much to take in that a little similarity helps.

There is a "good Goddess" named Astoreth ala Tamara Ten-Astoreth

There is a tribe of the Sarni called Danladi-Danladi wave

Val's rap on the Ishkans for using the word "I" is reminicient of Alexzandar Soli's hardcore upbringing of Leopold on Simoom

The rare shatterwood trees

There's also Mt. Arakel and scrying

Ea was initially founded by "star people" so shared names may not that far fetched. No reason not to think that this is a planet that shares some kind of proximity to Icefall's galaxy so The Ieldra and The Vild could be understandable-Maybe Ea is a Silicon God construct, for all we know, or it could simply be one of the multitude of Hanuman's incredibly speed-up "Doll" worlds

I am enjoying the hell out of this book, in anycase
