You may take it for granted, but due to a series of internet disconnects two years ago and a systems restore I've had a real "tinny" sound coming out of my super-cool "Darth Vader" JBL subwoofer system and about 4 months ago I lost a speaker and could barely here out of the other. One good thing about my nasty virus attack is that Forest reset everything and everything concerning sound and flushed all the BS o/o my system. I tried my speakers yesterday and heard something normal o/o the semi-good receiver for about 5 secs and then it went dead. Encouraged I checked all the connections and was about to give up, then I said screw it and slammed all 3 wires as hard as I could into the subwoofer and BLAMMMMM!!!!

ok, this is only a year later, but, I say, if something's not working right, go get the B.F.H. (big freakin' hammer!!) and give a couple good swats - it'll either fix it or break it permanently so you don't have a choice of replacing.... I know, it's a kind of weird asss-backwards theory, but it's worked for me and seems like the heavy hand worked for the speakers too....hopefully they're still working a year later!!
