do any of you like any of these songs? I was surprised at how many I know well and really love in the top 25, though I would probably juggle them around a bit.

I'm sad that classical and jazz were pretty much ignored...

Aside from saving 9 and 1/2 Weeks and being completely sexy (kids don't watch )

I've never heard the vast majority of these supposed 50 best love songs.

The only ones listed that I both know and like are:

46. This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)/ Talking Heads - This one would be way, way higher on my personal list. In fact, it's among my 20 or so favorite songs ever.

21. Time After Time / Cyndi Lauper - Wouldn't say it's a particular fave, but it's a good song made better by Lauper's distinctive voice.

3. Something / The Beatles - Absolutely no argument here. In my view, it doesn't get much better than the Beatles, and this song is one of their very best. This George Harrison-penned tune is so unbelievably good it almost makes the Lennon-McCartney stuff sound average by comparison. Bah, drop Elvis and the Beach Boys from the top; Something is No. 1 all the way.

Oh! You know what's missing? Meat Loaf's For Crying Out Loud!! Damn that's a great love song!!
