Yeah, there was some friction between Byrne and the rest of the band. Whether that was the main cause of the band's breakup I don't know. I have a book on Talking Heads, This Must Be The Place, which is their official bio, you could say. I just haven't gotten around to reading it yet.

But from my reading of other material, my understanding was that the Heads' collaboration with Brian Eno in the late 70's to early 80's caused a good deal of tension between Byrne and the rest of the band. While the collaboration was artistically fruitful, the other members felt that Eno was insinuating himself too much into the band. They also felt that Byrne was relying too much on Eno for creative guidance. They felt as if Eno had hijacked the band for his own artistic aims.

A trip down memory lane: listening to Wings Greatest - remastered edition. Bought it just today. This was one of my favorite records back when I was a kid in the late '70s, but through the years I just never got around to buying it on CD.

Mothership by the godlike Zep. Cd and DVD, some of the early concert footage is amazing.

"Frank" by Amy Winehouse. Her trainwreck of a lifestyle overshadows just what a brilliant talent she is.

Listening to Raiders of the Lost Ark (original soundtrack - remastered edition) to get myself in the right frame of mind for the new Indiana Jones movie. It will be an Indy weekend. 8)

Sting's ...Nothing Like The Sun. This was one of my favorite albums of the Eighties - I'd say it was among that decade's 20 best. Hadn't listened to it in a long time, but its melancholic, bittersweet songs fit my mood perfectly right now.

Rumour sprendin' a-'round in that Texas town
'bout that shack outside La Grange
and you know what I'm talkin' about.
Just let me know if you wanna go
to that home out on the range.
They gotta lotta nice girls.

Have mercy.

A haw, haw, haw, haw, a haw.
A haw, haw, haw.

Well, I hear it's fine if you got the time
and the ten to get yourself in.
A hmm, hmm.
And I hear it's tight most ev'ry night,
but now I might be mistaken.
hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm.

Have mercy.

Spent the last hour listening to/watching music videos from the 80's on youtube. Looking back, it's hilarious how non-sensical many of those videos were. But there were also many gems.

Cleburne mentioned ZZ Top. Their videos were among my faves from the 80's. :)
