In 1970, a Canadian concert promoter (Ken Walker), rented a Canadian National trainset and took a trainload of rocknroll muscians on a tour of Canada, it was called the Festival train (aka the Festival Express). Muscians included the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Delaney and Bonnie (Bramlett), Ian and Sylvia (Tyson, nee Fricke), Buddy Guy, Sha Na Na and more. In 2003 Ken Walker released a movie about the Festival train. Highlight for me is watching live performance of Janis signing Cry, Baby with the band that would be known as "Full Tilt Boogie" which is the band that played on Pearl. Then there's a jam session on the train between Bob Weir, Richard Manuel, Janis Joplin, Jerry Garcia to an old gospel tune. That's the atmosphere that the train had of a continuous party and muscian's jam session, among many the reputation of the train's partying and jam sessions is the legend of the train.

Sorry this message is so long cause it probably means little except to me and Danlo. taraswizard
