Well, I know only two works by Bruckner: the 8th and 9th Symphonies. But what symphonies they are!

Listening to another piece I haven't put on in a long time: Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique, performed by the Montreal Symphony Orchestra under Charles Dutoit. This early digital recording (1984) was one of the first to really show off the impressive dynamic range of CDs - to these ears anyway. It helped that it was recorded in Montreal's St. Eustache church, a building with phenomenal acoustics. (But then, I guess most churches do possess that quality.)
