It's a cold and rainy winter day. I am curled up with a mug of tea, a mystery book, and listening to Walter Beasley's For Her. ******************************************************

I'm doing the NY Times Xword puzzle, bracing for a freeze prediction tonight, drinking a glass of wine and listening to the silence now that the 2 boys finally started snoozing... *****

Earlier this morning I was listening to Mahler's Fifth Symphony. I am sure it will be the first of many times I listen to that particular symphony this week. Now I am listening to a bunch of U2 songs on itunes. ******************************************************

It's a quiet night here at work, with a bad snow storm on its way to us. (Well, bad by southeastern Michigan standards, not Earthy's Buffalo standards. There'll be about 8 inches of fresh snow to drive home in, or thereabouts. )

So it's a good night to listen to Christmas carols! I am currently listening to Rat Pack holiday tunes.

Quote:
Ahhhh, it's a marshmallow world in the winter,
When the snow comes to cover the ground.
It's the time for play, it's a whipped cream day,
I wait for it the whole year round!

Those are marshmallow clouds being friendly,
In the arms of the evergreen trees;
And the sun is red like a pumpkin head,
It's shining so your nose won't freeze!

The world is your snowball, see how it grows,
That's how it goes, whenever it snows.
The world is your snowball just for a song,
Get out and roll it along!

It's a yum-yummy world made for sweethearts,
Take a walk with your favorite girl.
It's a sugar date, so what if spring is late,
In winter it's a marshmallow world!

It's a marshmallow day in the winter,
When the snow comes to cover the ground.
It's the time for play, it's a whipped cream day,
And we wait for it the whole year round!

Just you remember that,

Those are marshmallow clouds being friendly,
In the arms of the evergreen trees;
And the sun is red like a pumpkin head,
It's shining so your nose won't freeze!

You must remember that,

The world is your snowball, see how it grows,
That's how it goes whenever it snows.
The world is your snowball just for a song,
Get out and roll it along!

It's a yum-yummy world made for sweethearts,
Take a walk with your favorite girl.
It's a sugary date, so what if spring is late,
In winter it's a marshmallow world...
In winter it's a marshmallow world...
In winter it's a marshmallow world...

For whatever reason, I have a Mahler craving this afternoon. I think I will go lie down and listen to his seventh symphony. ******************************************************

Yeah, Earthy!

The thundersleet storm we had this afternoon has inspired me to listen to Beethoven's Sixth Symphony, with its own little storm. ******************************************************

One of my co-workers brought in some great blues tonight.

Makes me wish I was at some smoky bar in Chicago somewhere listening to some red hot blues guitar.
