Detroit has been nutso lately!
There was a serial rapist preying upon women going to and from city bus stops. He kidnapped and raped something like eight women in less than three weeks! Turns out he is someone who first went to jail for violent crimes at a very early age, and did not waste much time getting back to violence...
Then there was a different guy, another guy who had spent time behind bars. Supposedly kidnapped a young teenage girl and chained her to a toilet, turning her into a sex slave and repeatedly raping her. She got away and when the police starting investigating him he went into a police precinct office and started a huge gun fight, putting four police officers in the hospital - and then today some unknown person firebombed his house:
And then there was some sort of big gun fight at an illegal dog fighting ring that left three people dead:
This on top of three suburban police officers being killed in the line of duty quite recently (two in Taylor in separate incidents and one in Livonia who was shot and killed while trying to stop a home invasion - by, of course, two guys who had spent time in prison and were suspected in countless home break-ins). And eight Detroit firefighters being hospitalized while trying to stop a business fire that was started by arson.
Not to mention the heinous gang rape of a ninety year old woman a few months ago by four teenagers.
I do not know if it is the terrible economy - our recession started before everyone else's and has been much deeper with larger job loss - or just a world gone insane...
But this crap has got to stop!
