Excuse me, BUT the police are supposed to PROFFESSIONALS in the attitudes and responses. Example, in my old position with Morton International, I had a fair amount of customer service and dealt with my fair share or irate, upset, unreasonable, and angry customers. REGARDLESS of their attitude or dergree of upset it was my professional responsibility to deal with each one calmly and reasonably. IOW, my opinion is what Mr Gates may or may not have done is largely irrelevant unless it was some type of illegality or danger to the public safety, his own safety or the officer's safety.

That position might seem extreme, but...

Oh, I agree that it was mishandled. Absolutely. I just don't think that it was because Gates was black.

I think that it was absolutely mishandled by the po-po's, and that the professor's race had quite a bit to do with it.
