At first it looked like Michigan might have won - John McCain declared last week that he was suspending his campaign here, and not buying any more adds. Almost everyone - especially those of us who hate the mudslinging hatemongering political ads filled with lies and crap - was very happy! We Win! We Win! Only half as many political ads polluting our radios and television! But - oddly enough - there has been no decrease in ads at all. There are still plenty of ads from John McCain - and even more rabid and disgusting ones from far right wing partisan groups that are not "official" ads. We are all now wondering if it was yet another ploy - some sort of bizarre invitation to the far right partisan groups to come into our state and run the dirtiest political campaign with the filthiest lyingest ads anyone can remember. |

This is one of the more interesting and different takes on the Presidential candidates I have run into: |

Maybe the reps don't want to win. And instead leave a Dem to have to try and solve the problems created in the last 8 years, (and take the blame for failing). --A |

Great website and resource for voters: Make sure your voter registration is valid! See a sample ballot for your district! Links for the candidates on your ballot! Tells you what ID (if any) you need to take to the polling place with you! And yes, I went there and checked. All three of us who are old enough to vote in my family are safely registered. Since this will be my older son's first chance to vote, I plan on treating him to a great lunch after voting as a way to celebrate his first chance to take part in this very important civic duty. |
