**OK--the Games dont end after the regular season! So please enter here 4 our Playoff Pool Challenge (which was called 'Road 2 the Superbowl' last year) we'll take it week by week predicting winners AND scores to all games-if we all stick with it it could be alot of fun. I know it's difficult with the Holiday Season but please try. We need at least 5 participants 2 keep it going. Players like Rootvess who entered late and Brinn and MsMary (SHLOMO) who haven't been around TAKE HEART it's like a whole NEW season! *****

Saturday, Jan 3rd
afternoon game:
(ABC) Tennessee 12-4 at Baltimore 10-6
late game:
(ABC) Dallas 10-6 at Carolina 11-5

Sunday, Jan 4th
early game:
(FOX) Seattle 10-6 at Green Bay 10-6
afternoon game:
(CBS) Denver 10-6 at Indianapolis 12-4

Now it gets tuffer! Predicting the scores may just be 4 fun and I'll try 2 figure and award 4 whoever comes closest (suggestions r welcome) but they will serve as a tiebreak. Don't give up!

My picks,
Titans--this is going 2 be DAMM close and McNair will probably kill himself in eeking out this win which could do Titans in 4 rest of playoffs--Balt's D and 7-1 record at home says I'm wrong! Titans 28-Ravens 24
Panthers--If Saints can tweak Boyz at home Panthers can-this might be only game they win-Davis chunks out big yardage. Panthers 21 Cowboys 13
Packers--the Farve spiritual quest continues, but stops after Pack ice Hawks at Lambeau Green Bay 31 Seahawks 17
Colts--this is going 2 be DAMM close 2-Denver so-so on road and Indy could be better at home-somethings got 2 give! I look 4 a high scoring game. If Indy wins they could go a long way... Colts 38 Broncos 31

Happy New Year! *****

Carolina D looks better that Dallas' #1 D, Boyz sloppy, Panthers neat and efficient Delhome/Davis look good-Car 29 Dal 10. Walking wounded: McNair and George somehow overcome 3 stupid interceptions and very debatable end of game playcalling-get around Lewis-slow other Lewis down and break the 5 game win streak held by coach Lewis. The ancient 1, Gary Anderson, is yanked off a fishing trip-boots gamewinning FG w/29 secs left. It was a 46 yarder that cleared the posts by about 6 inches! Tenn 20 Balt 17.

From what I've heard this morning Carolina will play Rams next week-so the winner of this mornings Sea/GB travels the Philly next week...

Saturday standings:
Damelon: 2-0 off 4pts but totally nailed Tenn/Balt!!!!!*!
dAN: 2-0 off 5pts*
diamondraught: 2-0 off 14pts
danlo: 2-0 off 18pts
clearfrontier: 2-0 no pts
Earthblood: 1-1 off 14 pts
kinslaughterer: 1-1 off 11pts

!predicited xact score
*closest 2 actually final score *****

Sorry Damelon, I corrected it--and others...

In a damm good game, Hasselback makes 1 major mistake! Al Harris runs back a 52 yd interception 4 a TD in OT!!! GB 33 Seattle 27. Manning puts up MVP numbers: 22-26 377yds and 5 TDs!!! Colts totally dissimate Broncs 41-10.

Wild Card Weekend final standings:
Damelon: 4-0 off 13pts came closest on Indy/Denver!!!!!**!
diamondraught: 4-0 off 33pts* came closest on GB/Sea
danlo: 4-0 off 48pts:
clearfrontier: 4-0 no pts
dAN: 3-1 off 31pts*
Earthblood: 3-1 off 26pts^ picked xact total-Indy/Sea
kinslaughterer: 3-1 off 27pts

!: predicted game winner and xact score
*: came closest to final score of 1 game
^: predicted xact point total in a game *****

Saturday, Jan. 10th
afternoon game:
(FOX) Carolina 12-5 at St. Louis 12-4
late game:
(CBS) Tennessee 13-4 at New England 14-2

Sunday, Jan. 11th
early game:
(CBS) Indianapolis 13-4 at Kansas City 13-3
afternoon game:
(FOX) Green Bay 11-6 at Philadelphia 12-4

My picks,
Rams while Panthers looked good in beating Dallas-their D really isn't that good, on a consistent basis. Sorry guys the Buc stops here-2 road games in arow-change of tuff...Rested, faster and Faulk powered Rams will win at least 1 game--this is it. St. Louis 34 Carolina 14
Titans might be going out on a limb here and weather conditions may change this pick. While not xactly a believer in Titan's secondary-not xactly a believer in total Pat air attack. Odds say streak won't last. If Belichek makes a mistake (which he's not likely 2), George keeps running and McNair doesn't practice Tenn could eek this one out. Tennessee 24 New England 20
Colts Much as I hate to say it I think Indy's going 2 come away with this. I was psyched 4 KC 2 go all the way 2 the Superbowl at week 9--and I really won't mind if I lose this pick. KC has exposed 2 many flaws in last 4 games. Playing outside and on the road will be different 4 Indianapolis, but with Payton's monkey off his back and the enthusiasm carrying over from this weekend Colts have nothing 2 lose. Indianapolis 28 Kansas City 21
GB can stop Alexander at Lambeau but can't stop 3 pronged running attack in Philly. Pack fall to effects of 2 very good QBs in arow and a much better D on the field this weekend. Philadelphia 21 Green Bay 10

Game of the week: Titans at Pats
upset special: Colts over Chiefs!

danlo, I know you're old school, but it's been the Indianapolis Colts for about 20 yrs.now. I like how you morphed back by starting out Indy! Edited by: diamondraught at: 1/5/04 1:17 pm

We'll be in the old folks home together, just like old man Simpson - talking about the Memphis '49ers and the Albuquerque Buccaneers!
