Wow, no one is discussing basketball? Where are you guys?

Shlomo would like me to point out that last fall, at the start of the basketball season, he predicted here that the heat would make the playoffs, and everyone laughed at him. (I can't find the original post, it may have been deleted.)

Today, I bought 2 tickets to a game in Heat-Hornets playoff series, in which the Heat got home court advantage (4th seed). Shlomo will attend the game with either his dad or me, whoever decides to go with him.

GO HEAT!!! ALL THE WAY!!

Odom is great and I've always dug Brian Grant-they key for the Heat, however, is to get rookie sensation Dwayne Wade healthy in a hurry. I know the Heat can beat New Orleans and given their 2nd half hot streak and the relative strenght of the East there's no reason why they can't go all the way. The only team that scares me is Indiana-now they have a well rounded team and even Harrington can fill in for Jermaine O'Neal-that's a deep bench! Detroit has alot of weapons but Hamilton can shut down from time to time, B. Wallace's rebound arv. has dropped dramatically and R. Wallace is prone to self-destruct when the pressure's on. If anything can sustain Detroit it's going to be the coincidence of Prince getting hot during the 1 out of 4 games where Hamilton goes cold.

Once C. Webb came back in and Brad Miller got injured my Kings went from one of the best teams I've ever seen to a pile of -------(well you know ) They'll be lucky to beat Dallas-and if Walker and Jamison step up, they won't. So I'll have to fall back on my 2nd fav team-The Timberwolves to go all the way! In Spreewell, Cassell, Owkalandi and Serbiak, KG finally has the backup to do it all! Houston's not going anywhere, the Spurs will vanish in an instant if anything happens to Duncan and if Minnesota has to beat LA to do it-so be it-no way LA, yes you have the talent but I shall fight karma, the stars and the "Zen Master" tooth and nail and you WILL NOT WIN THIS YEAR!!!! *****

Shlomo and I picked up $10 balcony seats yesterday and went to Game 1 of the Heats-Hornets match. It was open seating in the balcony (we were sitting in the ceiling, practically!), and the parking cost more than the tickets ($15 to park downtown, and that was a cheap lot a number of blocks from the arena).

We got free playoff T-shirts upon entering the arena, which, of course, we put on immediately.

What an exciting game, and what a great win for the Heat. Tie game with less than a minute to go, and Dwayne Wade sinks a basket with seconds left in the game to win it for Miami!!

What a great young team!

I guess no one is interested in basketball anymore.

The Heat had a fantastic game Wednesday night, crushed the Hornets 93-63.

In all the other playoff games, home court advantage paid off, with most of those teams taking a 2-0 lead after their home games.

The only exception is Milwaukee-Detroit, who were 1-1 after the second game.

The Nets and the Spurs may be heading for a sweep: they are now both up 3-0. And I expect the Heat to be following in their footsteps. Get out the brooms.
