Not sure if I am more excited by Michigan trying to get back to fundmental football under Brady Hoke or by the neverending mess down in Columbus (though I do feel sorry for the kids who didn't cheat while down there and for the fans who were not in the know about the cheating and got whacked upside the head with it - though rumors had been flying for a lot of years - and my son heard them in Muncie, too, so they wren't just widespread in Ann Arbor).

Not expecting Michigan to do much after the disaster of the last three years- it will take time to recover from the mess Rodriguez made of the program - but I am hoping to watch some progress as the season goes on with basic defense, etc.

I'll continue to root for the Gators, but I'm not expecting too much from them this year...

Well, the Wolverines won their first game under Brady Hoke, though the weather was seriously brutal:


First the heat which caused so many people to pass out that the EMS lost track of how many people they had to treat, then severe thunderstorms which caused a long lightning delay and a second thunderstorm which caused them to evacuate the stadium and call the game early...

I am too upset to talk about what is going on with Penn State and the child molestation scandal right now, but it sure puts a couple of losses in a rebuilding year into perspective, doesn't it?

Absolutely disgusting--students damage media vans and don't get arrested, hundreds peacefully protest around the country and do--what's wrong with that picture?
