So far no known human or horse serious injuries or fatalities, but some of the barns were hit really hard, and horses were running around panicked and loose all over the place under torrential rains among the debris. I cannot even imagine how awful and frightening that would have been!
The horses are being taken to the State Fair Grounds (which has huge stabling areas as it serves as the arena for various world champion shows for various breeds of horses) and Keeneland race track in Lexington.
It is possible that the Preakness winner Shackelford might have been there - Churchill is his trainer's home track.
