Since I did exceedingly bad in both of my fantasy leagues and the Angels have fallen from grace, I shouldn't care about the playoffs, but I do. What are the reasons? 1. Tampa Bay needs to win to stick it to their lousy fans. 2. The Twins are the coolest team in baseball. 3. The Phillies need to be slapped down to Earth and 4. It's Tim Lincecum's 1st post season appearance. So it should be exciting. I would love to see the Yankees and the Braves drubbed out of the playoffs. My World series prediction? More of a dream but, Twins v Reds.

 PLAY BALL!

Wed:
Texas at Tampa Bay
Cincinnati at Philadelphia
New York at Minnesota

Thurs:
Atlanta at San Francisco

I know I should hate the Twins, as they are a divisional rival to my Tigers - but damn, they are year in and year out the best run franchise in baseball, given their small market and low budget! I cannot help but admire them! Go Twinkies! :sky: :sky: :sky:

Some incredible pitching perfomances all ready! Halladay tosses a no-hitter for the Phils, Lincecum fans 14 in a shutout for the Giants, Petiette dominates! Good stuff! (Twins and Tampa Bay get getting run out, already...)

The Halladay thing - or at least ESPN's reaction to it - sort of made me sick. Here the guy accomplished something only one guy in the history of baseball did before him - a no hitter in the playoffs - and on Sports center it was sort of lost under layers of Brett Favre/Randy Moss Monday Night Football hype.

My children have already declared a boycott of the upcoming Monday Night Football game in disgust.

Well, the NLCS is set - San Francisco Giants v. Philadelphia Phillies

The AlCS is half set - the New York Yankees v. whomever wins tonight between Texas and Tampa.

It will be the Yankees v. the Texas Rangers.

And the first game of the NLCS will feature Halliday v. Lincecum - what a match up! :sky: :sky: :sky: :sky: :sky: :sky:

Last night Cliff Lee destroyed the Yankees throwing 13 strikeouts and only yielding 2 hits to become the first pitcher ever to record 3 10-strikeout games in a postseason. Texas can advance to the World Series tonight if Tommy Hunter can beat A. J. Burnett. Even if the Yanks win the next two they could face Lee in game 5. The Phils/Giants series is tied at 1-1 with a solid match-up tonight of Cole Hamels against Matt Cain.

Lee is amazing. Can you just imagine the pain that Indians fans feel, knowing how good their team might have been if management could have found a way to hang on to Lee and Sabbathia? :faint:

San Francisco takes a 2-1 lead as Matt Cain shuts out the Phillies over 7 innings, Roswell NM native Cody Ross get another key RBI winning 3-0.

And the World Series will feature the Texas Rangers with Cliff Lee v. the San Francisco Giants with Tim Lincecum. Dream pitching matchups might happen if we are all lucky. :cloud:

:calibaby: I don't know if anybody's been paying attention but the Giants lead the World Series 2-1. It's back in Arlington (that's in Texas, LOL) where the Rangers won 4-2 last night thanks to 7 and 2/3 innings from a tough Colby Lewis. Mitch Moreland, who was batting in the #9 position, hit a 3 run home run. The Giants won the opener in a high scoring affair that chased aces Cliff Lee and Tim Lincecum. I, actually, watched the 7th and half of the 8th inning last night. Game 4 is tonight in Texas with Madison Bumgarner going against Tommy Hunter.
