Well, most teams are getting ready for the upcoming season - for most schools play will start in two weeks (and for a few only a week away!).

I am expecting a pretty bad season from UM this year. The new coach has not meshed into the system very well, yet. We've been having kids who should be starters transfer out to other schools, and it looks like there will be problems with key positions like quarterback. Ah well.

Well, the offical season is underway, though most of the big schools will nto see action until tomorrow.

Yes, the 100,000+ fans are clogging the streets of Ann Arbor tonight.

Menolly, your Gators really domainated their opponents today, going by the score.

Michigan lost their game by a couple of points, but the game in actuality was not that close. Utah made a bunch of bone headed penalties, and if they had played a cleaner game, they probably would have blown out Michigan.

Well, we all knew Michigan would be bad this year. New coach (so disliked that a bunch of returning players transferred out to other schools), new offensive system, a near complete turnover in key offensive players and even some key defensive players. **sigh** Team is loaded with freshmen.

Would you believe the media is harping about the defense allowing Hawaii to score at all? Whatever happened to "not running up the score" and southern gentility?

I have hopes for a decent season, but...
that attitude is a turn off for me.

I do not think that Southern gentility exists when it comes to SEC football.

We got to watch my older son's old school, Ball State beat up on Navy on TV tonight.

You know, the Ball State coach was supposedly considered for the UM job.

He seems to be a good guy, and he took one of the worst programs in the country and really turned it around - in the past couple of years this little team has given big schools like Michigan and Nebraska as much as they can handle, and they have won most of their games against schools their own size.

I sort of wish they had gotten him rather than the guy they did.

Michigan barely beat their MAC opponent today in a low scoring snoozefest at the Big House.

Ohio State also won against their MAC opponent, but were losing the game for a little while. I knew it was too good to be true or to last, but I was chortling with glee for a bit there.

Michigan loses a horrible game to Notre Dame, marred by an incredible number of costly errors by the Wolverines. I thought that the team would be bad this year, but not even little Ms. Pessimism thought they would be this bad.

I never thought I would see this day in my life, but I am actually rooting for USC (as my hub calls it, the University of Spoiled Children, which is the southern Californian nickname for the school). It hurts me to root for them, but ohhowihateohiostate.

You could always join me in rooting for the Gators, Duchess!!

Pretty pathetic

We are however, heading to the Happy Valley to see Penn State demolish Temple this weekend (my father-in-law's 70th birthday gift).
My hometown University at Buffalo Bulls beat Temple on Sat with a last second hail mary, so that shows you the level Temple is playing at!!
some football, some tailgating in the pasture & some site seeing - should be a fun weekend!!

Sounds like a ton of fun, Earthy! And Penn State has a decent team this year, too (unlike UM).

Lobos finally win against Arizona after having their asses whamped on national TV TWICE by TCU and Texas A & M---next stop Tulsa and the country's highest powered offense-pray for us.

Well, Michigan did nto lose this weekend! It was their bye week.

I feel sorry for Tennessee fans, and wonder how long their coach will have a job after Saturday!

30-6!!!

The series with the Vols is now even stevens, 19-19, with Florida winning the last four in a row.
