So give a cheer for the orange and blue
Waving Forever
Forever Pride of old Florida
May She droop never
We'll sing a song for the flag today
Cheer for the team at play
On to the goal we'll fight our way
For Florida.

GO GATORS!!!

Just popping in for a quick drink sluuurp! :pink: ah! It's any one's Picks game to win next week aTOM leads the way but 7 players, actually, have a shot! MY public FF team went 14-2 and won their championship!! :balloons: If the Chargers beat Denver next week they'll have somehow, miraculously, made it into the playoffs!!! Finally, if the putrid kitties lose next week they'll be at an NFL record 0-16... :earthy: HOHOHO! :santa:

Hey this place is dead! Still recovering from no football on Sunday-yes in our game I picked the Steelers, but I'm secretly rooting like hell for the Cardinals. I just did my first mock draft in fantasy baseball and will be the commissioner of the Fantasy Fanatics league this year. Crunching stats like a mad man and actually preparing instead of flying by the seat of my pants for the last two years. I'm in a basketball league but, frankly, it bores the crap out of me. Come on MBL!!!

My Dad's all into the Australian Open-rooting for Nadal, I think the Avs are in last place, oh well. Detroit, as usual, San Jose, NJ and Baaaston are kicking butt. The Suns are starting to get their act together ever since they acquired Jason Richardson with Boston, Orlando (Dwight Howard is a monster), Cleveland (go LeBron!), San Antonio, Denver (they actually play better without Carmelo-go figure) and LA leading the way.

The NM Lobos (basketball) just beat the league leading TCU in their own house-they're up and down and hard to figure, but they could gel into a very good team...they're 12-8 and face tough Utah in Provo Saturday. I'm out!

In these parts, we worship our Wings, though they have been trailing the Sharks all season in the Western standings. The Pistons royally suck this year. Allen Iverson sucks, and the trade to get him sucked as much as he does - and we cannot wait for his contract to be up at the end of the season so the Pistons can dump him. Everyone is joking about how the Lions will throw away all of their first round draft picks on players who they either cannot use or will be washouts, because they always throw away their first round draft picks.  Everyone is rooting for the Cardinals in the Super Bowl, because that would be almost as cool as the Lions winning it. In the Ann Arbor area no one really pays much attention to college basketball (that is a Lansing MooSU area thing) - we follow college hockey instead. 8) And everyone is starting to get excited about baseball spring training which will be starting soon, even though we know the Tigers will probably be even worse than last year. We Detroit fans always delude ourselves that the Tigers have a chance to be good until the season actually starts and we have to endure the product on the field.

Everyone who has a snow mobile is very happy this winter - tons of snow. No one has to go Up North to ride on weekends - they just go for rides along the sides of the roads and through the farm fields. We do not own one, but we do not mind if people ride them through our yard, which they have been regularly. It has been too cold for much sledding or skating or snow man making, though. :(

Y'all should tar and feather Iverson and Sheffield and run then out of town, then get three specialists to work on Verlander's mechanics. Do that and the Tigers should be in good shape. I think the Lions will get a good 1st rounder-they better, Mel Kyper Jr. says this crop is the poorest in 4 years-the Millen curse is lifted. NO wide receivers !   :D

Watched the entire final round of the Masters yesterday. It was expanded tv coverage, and with the playoff at the end, that was 5 and a half hours of golf! I didn't mind, because Augusta is such a gorgeous golf course.

The Mickelson/Woods pairing put on such a show early on that I thought the Masters was in their hands, but wow, they stumbled badly towards the end - badly when you consider the caliber of golfing skill these two men represent. I mean, between them, they've got 6 green jackets. It was very strange to see Tiger Woods bogeying the last hole at a Major championship.

After those two fell off the hunt, I was pulling for Angel Cabrera - and was shocked when he actually won! I have nothing against Chad Campbell, it's just that his game doesn't excite me as a viewer. I'm sorry, but he's like the model for the generic PGA tour pro. Kenny Perry, on the other hand, I did feel for at the end, when he lost the playoff to Cabrera. Being 48 years old, Perry could have become the oldest Major champion ever; you have to wonder if he'll ever get another chance like this again.

All in all, one of the more memorable final rounds at Augusta.

My husband spent the day yesterday watching the golf (bouncing to the Tigers and Wings games occasionally to catch the scores) and eating chocolate and caramal easter eggs.

Yes, the golf course down there looks to be gloriously beautiful in the spring. :D they are a good month ahead of us as far as spring flowers, etc. go down in Georgia - and it was rapturous looking at them.
