They won today, but only because our only decent pitcher started - Armondo Gallaraga, the great rookie right hander.

I KNOW the Rays will win on Saturday - I get the pukable "pleasure" of watching the latest train wreck performance by terrible awful pathetic starting pitcher Dontrelle Willis.

Hang in there, aTOMic! With Dontrelle Willis the starting pitcher on Saturday, your Rays will win and clinch first place!

And I will be there in person to see their celebration!

In other news, the White Sux and Twinkies are making quite a battle of it for the AL Central - baseball's second worst division after the NL West.

Was I ever wrong. Dontrelle Willis actually had a decent start, and the Tigers managed to win.

I think that the Rays have clinched anyway, with a Boston loss, have they not?

No one seems to want to win the AL Central. Both the White Sux and the Twinkies have lost two straight at home.

The Tigers have supposedly just fired Chuck Hernandez, the pitching coach, and also their bullpen coach whose name escapes me at the moment. I normally hate seeing people lose their jobs, but this was long long overdue!

There is still no winner for the AL Central.

Not surprisingly, the White Sux beat up the Tigers in the make up game, leadign the Sux into a tie with the Twinkies for division lead and the final playoff spot.

So the Sux and the Twinkies will have a one game playoff today.

If the Sux make it, they will start the playoffs against the strong Rays on Wednesday - and since they will not have had a day off heading into the playoffs, and will have played two extra gamesto even get there, they will be pretty tired, I bet.

Heh. And after the terrible product they put out on the field last season - with the second highest payroll in the MLB and the third worst record in the AL - the Tigers have the nerve to raise their ticket prices for next season for the prime games, like the series against the Cubbies.

Bet they won't sell out almost every game next year.
