They lost the last three games. As it happens, to the Tigers. Heh.

Well, the Tigers are a good team with some of the best players (such as Magglio Ordonez and Placido Polanco) in MLB. If they hadn't had so many key injuries this year, they would probably be competing for the best record in baseball. So nothing to be upset about in losing to a good team. Your Yankees will probably be angry now as a result of the Detroit series, and will probably open up a can of whoopass on the Red Sox in response. :wink:

Heh. If they don't lose at least 2 out of 3 to Boston, I'll be well surprised.

No biggie, really. The Yankees swept a 5-game series in Fenway a couple years ago. OTOH, they won the first 3 games against Boston in the ALCS a few years ago, then lost the next 4. We get good and bad. Gotta wait another year is all. (Hopefully not more than than. :lol:

)

EDIT: Well, color me surprised! I tell you, there's absolutely no consistency to them this year. You can't possible guess what they'll do from one day to the next. But NY is a happy place at the moment.

It is a good year for pitchers. Three no hitters now for the season.

One for the White Sox ( :razz:

), one for the Tigers

, and now one for the Red Sox.

And the latest is from a rookie! Throw in that the Tiger's verlander is only a second year pitcher, and things are lookin' good for AL pitching for quite a few years.
