if you look back a couple of pages, you will see that we Tigers fans were quite afraid that the Yankees would make a big run, and eliminate us. :wink:

Man, the Mets fell apart at the end of the year! :shock:

Very happy that the Yankees only have to face the Angels or the Sox! (If they get past Cleveland, that is. But they're 6-0 against them this year, so it's a pretty good possibility.)

Of course, it's not over yet. Many teams have come back from 2-0 to win. (Mind you, teams usually do that against the Yankees, so I'm not overly confident. :lol:

The Angels face a big uphill battle too, but this area is pretty stoked now that the D-back and Rockies are in the NL championship!

And the Tiger Slayers beat the Yankees to face Boston for the AL Pennant.

Fist, today is a good example of why nearly everyone in the USA who does not live or did not grow up in the greater NYC area hates the Yankees. Cleveland has had an awesome season, and have played very well thus far in the playoffs. They have good solid hitting and possibly the best 1-2 starting pitching combo in the AL with Sabbathia and Carmona - and they almost always come through in the clutch. They are a damned good team this year and they deserve a lot of credit for that.

But all the national media is in a frenzy over how the Yankees did. :razz:

Now, this is not the fault of the Yankees, their players, or their managament. It is solely the fault of the media. But the Yankees pay the price for the national media hype. :razz:

Rather than focusing on the Yankees, the national media should be focusing on the four teams remaining in the playoffs! :razz:

Well, the World Series this year will be the Colorado Rockies vs. the Boston Red Sox.

Wonder if there will be snow this year? last year soem of the playoff games in Detroit had to be moved to day games rather than night games, as it was just too bloody cold and windy and spitting bits of snow. :lol:

I have the feeling Danlo will be rooting for the Rockies, so I will cheer for Boston. Every team I have cheered for in the playoffs this year has been eliminated one after another - so if I cheer for the Red Sox, maybe the Rockies will win it all. :wink:

Poor Rockies - that huge wait between rounds of the playoffs seems to have done them in, just as the same situation did in the Tigers last year. :evil:
