D recovers at home and comes up big, McGahee, Evans and kicking game find some way to contribute.
Panthers-Delhomme proves he's not as bad as his stats despite the loss of Muhammad.
very tuff game to call, and I might change-Urlacher stops Johnson, but will Jones outpoint other Johnson?
Indy-Peyton and Harrison finally get moving.
Jax-another tuffy, also may change if Martin can move, but I feel a win coming for Jaqs. Don't ask me why...
New Orleans--very close, Culpepper proves he not that bad but Burleson/running game fail to break the barrier, this week.
Oak may score 20 but Mc, TO and Westbrook are just too hot.
The Caddy is rolling and Pack is playing like the right now, i.e.: straight downhill .
Titans: I don't understand their receivers, but, somehow, holes open for Henry and McNair, barely, gets the job done (probably thanks in part to stupid timeouts by Martz.)
Seahawks-Jackson & Alexander are feeling something at home and Warner's got the shakes.
Dallas-the truth is out about 8ers.
I'm probably an idiot for starting T. Jones over Willie on my fantasy team but I'm really not afraid of NE on the road right now. Hienz makes key grab (too many close games! )
Chargers-have to stay with them, O coordinator saves the day
despite Marty's dumbass playcalling.
Chiefs 35 Den 24 all sorts of weird things are going to happen in this game: Dante returns a KO for a TD, Gonzales undercuts Bailey, INTs traded back and forth and while no one's looking Priest pops though the vaunted front four despite (lots of despite this week! ) being w/o his best blocker--in fact it would be sheer brilliance, on Vermiels' part to have L. Johnson line up at fullback to make some key blocks AND receptions (of course it will never happen...but if I ruled the world!... ).

You'll never let me live down jumping ship for the Chargers, will you dAN?

(edit: Jets will lose now that Pennington's arm is visibly falling off and Vikes don't stand a chance with Burleson on the sidelines) *****

Hopefully my outstanding picks this week will, at least, make my composite standing look a little better when the standings come out next week.

>I think my NO curse, from the last two years is still following me around, but I'll pick NO, here's why: Duece is still hot, Horn will pissed from being ineffective last week, Buff's D is hurting with Spikes gone and Lawyer at 1/2 speed--and NO finally found a stadium with some of their fans in it.
>This is probably the hardest game to call this week, very intense D struggle, I feel another win coming for Jax (which was the only sensible thing I said last week ) but I'll go ahead and say Denver in OT.
The Caddy continues to impress-Clayton gets involved
Bengals, Johnson makes another check mark on his list.
Indy
SD-incredibly tough game but LT's starting to feel it.
Sea-yes I know it's a road game, yes I know Sea sucks on the road, yes I know Wash's D is awesome, but the awesome D slips, a bit, on Alexander, Smith makes good grabs and I'll take a Hassle over a Brunell anyday.
>Yeah just like the Sea game I'll pick St. Louis on principle---there's something going on with the Giants' attitude that's really rubbing me the wrong way--I'll be dammed if I know what it is, but even if both my picks lose I won't regret making them.
>As soon as I say that one game is the toughest game to pick along comes the battle of the non-existant QBs. Man I couldn't tell you: Martin's getting healthier, Moss is better than Mason. Lewis is slow getting off the blocks. Baltimore D has to improve--Balt D smells blood and is desperate--I'll take the Ravens by 2.
Dallas--the SF game warmed them up for this--it may not last past this week--but I don't see Woodson intercepting a bunch of balls.
Atlanta

>In a game that won't mean anything to anyone in a couple of weeks Rattay, Barlow and Lloyd go nuts, McKown falls apart while Kurt reads the Bible on the bench
Panthers break out in a very big way! 36-17 *****

Don't know if this will alter anyone's pick, but the Jets just signed Vinny Testaverde... I guess Joe Namath said no!

I am stinking the place up with my picks so far....

Saints regroup;beat wounded Bills
Broncos beat Jags, tough call
Bucs smite Lions
Bengals rout Texans, Carr has rough day
Colts beat Titans, both teams have played hard
Chargers defeat hurt Pats
Skins beat 'Hawks
Giant whip Rams, Bulger gets knocked out.

Ravens run Jets, 2 teams w/o decent QB on the roster
Raiders stop 'Boys, Air attack too much for Dallas
Falcons narrowly defeat Vikes, could be a good game
Eagles win at KC, I am incapable of picking against my boys

Cards beat 9ers another pseudo-home game

Monday, Oct. 3
Panthers take Pack 31-21 52pts
