Don't worry any longer-I wasn't knocked out by the "white-out" actually my phone connection was faulty and I've been without the internet since 9:30 Sunday morning. This is a HUGE relief to me as I had to do a factory restore 5 months ago thinking I had a browser virus that killed part of my hard drive. What really happened was that I've had a very flaky connection and a bogus jack for the past year and a half. The guy from Qwest (who installed my new hi-speed 7 meg modem on Thursday) came back and fixed the whole thing---and now I should be a comp wizard.
