Eh, months after overseas release, the latest Steven Ericson Malazan book, Dust of Dreams is finally shipping in the US.

Sounds like there are significant continuing delays on some pretty highly anticipated books like the latest in the continuing series by George RR Martin, Patrick Rothfuss, and Scott Lynch, so who knows if we will see anything from these authors or not in 2010.

Some significant upcoming releases that sounds like they are probably sure things in 2010:
the latest Thomas Covenant book by Stephen R. Donaldson (those usually come out in the autumn)
a book set in an alternate Earth's China by Guy Guvriel Kay
Robin Hobb's Dragon Keeper has its US release (I read the ARC, and it is pretty enjoyable!)
the second to last Wheel of Time book by Brandon Sanderson and Robert Jordan will probably come out in the autumn

That won't be true long if they have to cater to a global online market. :D

Almost all our books are imported, we usually get it a few months after the UK release.

Last year a new author named Robert Redick came out with a well regarded maritime fantasy called The Red Wolf Conspiracy. Now its sequel has come out, entitled The Ruling Sea. I have not read either one, but know a lot of people liked the first one. :)

Shadowrise, third book of Tad Williams' series Shadowmarch is now out. :) This was supposed to be the last book in the series, but it supposedly came in too long, so the publisher chopped it in half, with the second half supposedly coming in a couple of months. Since this first half is apparently over 500 pages, I guess I can see why they did that, depending on how long the other half is... :?

Daniel Fox's followup to last year's Dragon in Chainscalled Jade Man's Skin is now out. I have not read those yet, but heard that they are very good and that his world pulls heavily on Chinese myths and legends in a quasi-Chinese/Taiwanese setting. 8)

The last book in Williams's Shadow series (fourth and last) is due out in November from what I understand.

The second book in Hobb's new duology (actually one book split in half by the published) will be out in a couple of months in the US.

Ian Esslemont's next Malazan book is due out in November in the UK - unknown date in the US.

Must get myself copies of the Esselmont books. Have read them, but don't own them.

The next Erikson Malazan book is due out in December from what I understand. That is the overseas date, I'm sure it will be months beyond that before the US gets it.

The next Sanderson WOT book is due out in November. 8)

Guy Guvriel Kay's latest, Under Heaven will be out in April 2010. Advanced word is that it is very good. It is historical fantasy set in Tang China (or a close analogue).

Only thing I ever read of his was Tigana and I hated the first 100 pages. In fact, it took me maybe 12 years, and the urging of...somebody at the Watch, to actually plow past those first 100, then it was great.

Black Hills by Dan Simmons is now out - like his last couple of novels, it looks to be a cross between dark historical fantasy and horror.

Never thought I would see another book out by this author! She must be one of the slowest authors out there!

Yep, new Jean Auel book due out in early 2011! Last one in her series.
