It arrived today, along with Drowned Wednesday, two OSC books (Shadow of the Giant and First Meetings) and Runes (which has a gorgeous cover. ).

I had to run some errands before work today and found myself with a few minutes extra. So I stopped off at the bookstore.

I noticed that Sir Thursday has been released.

I got to read Sir Thursday yesterday. I will not give any large spoilers (and will try to stay away from small ones), but will give my general impression of the book.

I enjoyed it. I know that Nix intended it for older kids, but it is rather dark and edgy in places.

We get to visit an entirely new area of the House, and Thursday's duties are nothing like the duties of the other "Days" we have thus far met. I'm glad that Nix has been so inventive in the House and the Days. In the hands of a lesser author, each Day would have been a copy of the other Days - with Nix they are all very different, and it makes for a very interesting series.

Also, Nix seems to be raising the stakes in both the house and in the "real world".

The "three day weekend" should be great! ******************************************************

I was scanning over the last page of this thread and realized that I apparently never posted my comments about Across the Wall. Or maybe they were lost in the hacker attack, I don't know. Anyway, I really loved the story, but it just makes me want more about the Old Kingdom.

Oddly, I can't remember whether I ever read the other stories in the book. I know I intended to, but I can't remember them.

I got an email from the Garth Nix website a week or so ago saying that Lady Friday was coming out, but I haven't seen it for sale, yet.

Anyone seen it yet?

I have not seen it, but have also not been to a bookstore in a few weeks.

According to Amazon, it came out in hard cover in late January.
