This is an author I very rarely hear discussed, yet I have found her books to be very charming...

She has a stand-alone novel called The Unlikely Ones centered a quest, whose party consists of a crippled and hunchbacked maiden , a knight with a broken sword ,a hornless unicorn ,a crow, a lame kitten, a tiny goldfish, and a toad....a most unusual and interesting group of beings -- and a most wonderful dragon is in this story as well!

She also has a trilogy called The Unexpected Dragon whose individual books are called Pigs Don't Fly, Master of Many Treasures, and Dragonne's Egg. It is about the daughter of the village whore, who when orphaned, decides to use her small legacy to head to the nearest city and find a marriage broker so she can find a husband and settle down...but nothing ever goes as planned, and part of her legacy turns out to not be what it seems...with a ragtag group of animals including a flying pig and a grouchy dog, Summer finds adventures she never expected... Our lives are the songs that sing the universe into existence.~David Zindell
