Continuing discussion of non-fiction reference. There a reference volume The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction by John Clute and Peter Nicholls; 1995. It has turned out to be hugely valuable and delightful reference to own. Especially good for background on authors and individual books. List price for my copy was $29.95 USD, but I remember getting mine for $19.95 USD at local Borders in 2001. There is a companion volume The Encyclopedia of Fantasy. These books have won the Hugo and Nebula awards. taraswizard
