Tell us what kind of science fiction you are reading! Whether it is book, comic book, or graphic novel! :)

Just recently picked up my own copy of Speaker for the Dead to complete my Ender's trilogy, so that's what I'm re-reading. Probably get started on Xenocide tonight.

:LOLS: Of course I did. Pretty sure I told you about it too. Think I finished it within a couple of days of receiving it. :D Now I just need to find copies of 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 to complete my collection. :D

Hahaha, no, the only other one I own is Goblet of Fire. But I've read them all, so don't worry about it, really.

*snort*
Hush you...
Gave me a reason to get Beorn to straighten out his room while we looked for dupes.
...said as she arranges copies of all the odd numbered ones in a package...
All I need is to find a used copy of CoS...

Hahahaha, I would never be so churlish.

Really not necessary Menolly, but if you're going to insist, I can only be grateful and appreciative. ;)

I'll be interested to see if there are any differences within the prose that stand out to you.

I know it's not neccesary, silly...

like the Half Blood Prince you already received, keep in mind these are copies Beorn's had for years and are a bit beat up. PoA in particular is a very well loved soft cover copy, but at least the pages aren't falling out or anything...

Believe it or not, I just read Dune for the first time.
Not really my type of book, but turned out to be an interesting story.

So, are the sequels worth reading?

The first two sequals by Frank Herbert, Dune Messiah and Children of Dune form a trilogy with the original novel, so are worth trying to read. The next book by Herbert (God Emperor of Dune)takes place thousands of years in the future from them, and that can be a bit off-puting if you are not aware of that when picking it up. The next two books - Chapterhouse Dune and Heretics of Dune- take place thousands of years in the future from God Emperor, and are sort of weird, though worth reading if you want to experience the huge scope of time in that universe...the main problem with them is that they are books one and two of a trilogy where the author passed away before he could write book three so you will not get the complete story.

Avoid all of the Dune books by Brian Herbert and Kevin Anderson like the plague. Horrible stuff, really bad fan fiction with no regard for continuity. :gag:
