for entries is open. Seeking new genre features, short films and
unproduced screenplays from around the globe. Screamfest takes place
Oct. 14 -23 2011 at Grauman’s Mann Chinese 6 in Hollywood.

Screamfest showcases talented genre filmmakers and writers from around
the world to the entertainment industry in order to help further their
careers.

Winning screenplays have been optioned and purchased, four of our past
Screamfest winning directors have now directed for Sam Raimi and others
have been attached to studio films as a result of Screamfest.

In 2007 Screamfest discovered and premiered PARANORMAL ACTIVITY.

OT question, since no-one seems to be talking about this: why does everyone here and on the Watch refer to...er...certain materials as "pron" rather than the correct spelling? Is there some kind of automatic censorship on the message boards that picks up on key words? Or is it just an in-joke? Someone on the Watch said something about a pron thread!

It is an in joke from the Watch. There was once a monstrously long thread called pron in the title rather than porn, and which was all off color sexual innuendo. Eventually people went a little too far and it was done away with.

Damnit!! Why, oh why, did I have to be late to that party?!
