The easiest way I have found to deal with quotes is to type in the quote tags, then copy and paste what I want to quote inside of them.

If I am quoting a book, type in the quote tags, then type in the text between them.

I avoid the quote button, as I find trying to type in that little line to be a pain. Middle aged eyes do not like that little line. ******************************************************
