While waiting to see if the threads in this forum are restored after the great Hacker Attack of Memorial Day Weekend of 2005, I decided to start some new threads that did not exist at the time of the attack.

Lost threads include:
*various threads about the novel Dune including dissections of its first 14 chapters

*threads about the Dune movie and miniseries

*thread about the Children of Dune miniseries

*one thread each for the six prequel books, the three Dune Houses books & the three Legends of Dune books

That, of course, still leaves plenty to talk about while waiting for the restoration of the others.

Let us begin.

Well, obviously the lost stuff remained lost.

I have been taking sort of a break from all group reads for the summer. My brain needed some down time.

However, I think I will get started on this read again in mid to late August, after my vacation-- back at chapter one -- unless anyone beats me to it.

I'm trying to think of what else we lost here besides the read -- was it all of the movie & miniseries stuff? ******************************************************

Hi, duchess. I guess the Memorial Hack event wiped out the posts we had about the movie. I've regurgitated some of my thoughts in the Herbert thread in the General Sci-Fi section.
