Hmm, I'm gonna have to think 'bout it. IIRC, the dates given are in the 10,000's. But nothing to indicate what calendar...may be a new one.

I know we talked about it someplace, but cannot remember which thread, either.

The dates for Leto and post-Leto I pulled pretty much directly from God Emperor and Heretics. But I do not know if the years they mention are even remotely our years.

Yeah...no way of knowing. And no reason to suspect it either. About the only dates I remeber are 12 years of Paul's reign, and nearly 4,000 for Leto II.

I just finished reading Hunters of Dune and they had a timeline in the back of the book. I am not sure how "cannonical" these dates would be, as they come from Brian Herbert and Kevin Anderson rather than Frank Herbert himself. The dates seem to be divided into BG - Before Guild and AG - After Guild. Only one date gives given an equivalent in our years.

Since I am not feeling too well right now, this is an extremely abbrieviated version:

1287BG - thinking machines called Titans begin the "Time of Titans"

1182BG - Titan Xerxes starts taking over planets, changes his name to Omnius, and starts an interstellar empire run by thinking machines

203BG Holtzmann, taking the work from his assistant, comes up with his equations which will later become key to interstellar and interuniversal travel

201BG Butlerian Jihad begins

200BG League of Nobles (planets run by humans) destroy the thinking machines on Earth by using atomics

108BG end of Butlerian Jihad when human forces under the command of an Atreides and a Harkonnen destroy all thinking machine enclaves other then the one on Corrin

88BG Battle of Corrin, humans take over all of known space, beginning of the rift between Atreides and Harkonnen houses
