*waves* I actually posted first in the general SF forum, but Simmons is what brought me here I'm about halfway through _Rise of Endymion_ now...I first "met" the Hyperion universe in the novella in _World Enough & Time_ (which is discussed in a thread below) so I'm coming at it a bit backwards I am *loving* the books Though I must say I am reading this one with a bit of dread, as from the "Orphans" story I know a bit about Aenea's ultimate fate It's not keeping me from swallowing the book in large chunks, though

By the way, am I the only one who's aggravated that the covers so consistently show the Shrike incorrectly? It took them till the third book to give the creature the proper number of arms

Welcome! Welcome and true!
Always good to meet a Simmons fan.
Book covers in general are a pet peeve of mine! So many times I wonder if the artist has even read the book she or he is illustrating! vil ******************************************************
