Sorry to do this but I think the 'spammer' stuck some evil regenerating "spam-bot" in the old thread.

I have a book called the Adventures of Tom Bombadil by Tolkien. Its a collection of short stories and poetry describing Bombadil and other characters. It inspired my to write an "8th ward" so to speak of the Land. But this is the Tolkien forum...does anyone have this book?

I used too, but my mom sold it in a yard sale when I was 15 an away at Governor's school .

Other than that, I loved it. Tom Bombadill was my favorite character from all of the books.

I think it's included in The Tolkien Reader, which I have.

It's in verse, if I recall correctly, and I was never really able to get that interested in it.

I was also sad that he didn't make it into the movie. I absolutely loved his appearance, and their discussion of him in the Council of Elrond.

I have The Adventures of TB, but it's been many years since I read it. I remember it being fun, but I don't remember much specific.

Highdrake's mastery of spells and sorcery was not much greater than his pupil's, but he had clear in his mind the idea of something very much greater, the wholeness of knowledge. And that made him a mage.

I also like Tom, and his pretty wife, Goldberry, the River's Daughter.

------------------------------------------------------------Haven't read the Adventures, but to be honest, I never really liked him, and tend to skim past him in the book ayway. I sorta see him as comic relief for LotR. (I know he's actually much more than that, ancient and powerful, but I can't help it. )

I thought that just deleting all the spammer's posts would have solved the problem. (The posts with the gambling and ringtone links.) Or did you try that first and find it didn't work? "Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker?"<i></i>
