What was Gandalf's ring called? Wasnt it commonly called the ring of fire or something? And the other rings were in the hands of Galadriel, and Elrond, too right?

Just because I have to show off my knowledge of LOTR...

The Three Rings of the Elves are Narya, Nenya, and Vilya: the Rings of Fire, Water, and Air. They were borne by Cirdan (who later gave his to Gandalf), Galadriel, and Elrond, respectively.

Yeah, I'm done. Sorry. Just had to do that.

Foamfollower's answer is correct as far as The Third Age is concerned, but incorrect with respect to The Second Age. When Celebrimbor forged the Rings he gave one to Galadriel. She advised him to send the other two from Eregion, which he did by giving them to Gil-Galad. Gil-Galad, during the Last Alliance, gave these two rings to Cirdand and Elrond.

All the above comes from "Concerning Galadriel and Celeborn" in Unfinished Tales.

Yes, JRR Tolkein left behind a fascinating world for us to revel in. Don't let the plethora of names bog you down in the silmarillion. There are many brilliant stories inside.
