I had my first chat with a 'porno queen" on facebook today. She said I needed to go to a certain website and vote for her as Top Model and then I could see photos of her naked boadie, that's how she spelled it . I said "uh oh" and quickly defriended her...

Gee. I wonder what, exactly, was naked. Body? Booty? Toadie?

Does anyone else find the latest Facebook change - where people can track where you are via your cell phone - creepy as hell?

Do they automatically sign you up for that and you have to check something to get it to go away or do you have to sign up for it?

Because I surely do not want that. Ick.

I must admit I know nothing of that change.
I do know there is an app people can choose to add that states where they are "checking in" to.
But I don't access Facebook or any of the web via my cell anyway, so I doubt I am being tracked.
Where is such listed, Duchess?

huh, OK.

Not sure how it works, but in privacy settings, there is a "Places I check in" option. Go in to customize settings at the bottom of the privacy settings page to set it to where you want it set. Only me seems to be the most restrictive option.

Cool. On my way to go check my privacy settings NOW.

A friend of mine who makes it her business to inform all of her friends about these changes just posted this today.
While I found the "Places I Check In" setting on my own, I found the rest of the information helpful; I hope you do too.

last night I noticed that the default for "friends can check me in at places" (or whatever they called it - was ON.

I immediately disabled it.

How come when Facebook makes these crazy changes their default is always to give you LESS privacy?

Because the more they know about you, the more effectively they can target you for marketing, the more companies will pay them to display ads and provide them with your data.
