The snow crocuses are trying to bloom in my backyard today - you can see the little purple buds. But is is cold and drizzly, and they want some more sunshine before they open up.

Yesterday we had a tornado watch for hours and hours; it is chilly and drizzling rain today.

Yeah, Av has my sympathy, too. I hate it when the power goes out!!! Especially when it is cold!!!!

It looks like we're getting our first thundershower of the year tonight. There's some lightning and thunder happening, just waiting for the rain to hit. We already had a couple of mild spring showers last week, so things are nice and green.

I don't mind the lightning show, but thunder is always unsettling. You can never get used to thunder. (Well, I can't.)

I dunno - lightning can be very unnerving - especially when it is happening in sheets and in funky colors! I think the weirdest color of lightning I have ever seen was purple during a huge super cell storm that struck when I was at work, There was a tornado warning, and when we saw the purple lightning, we ran into the narcotic vault and stayed in there until the storm cleared! :lol:

I love thunder and lightning. When I lived in the UK, it was one of the things I missed most. We get major electrical storms here, especially up in Jo'burg where I usually live. I'll stand at the window for ages to watch the lightning and listen to the thunder.

Winter underway here, but where I am on the coast right now it's very sub-tropical, so winter highs are usually around the low to mid 20's on the Celsius scale. Quite bearable. Not like the freezing bloody highveldt.
