I hope this thread will get plenty of "nothing - had a great and relaxing day" sorts of responses, because after all, interesting could be either good or bad.

For me, so far today, it would be making up a bunch of intraocular antibiotic injections. Now, the eye injections use different concentrations of the drug than the concentrations for the same drug if used intravenously. And the doctors wanted a different concentration than the normal one we use for the intraocular, so we could not use out compounding cheat sheets. So my pharmacist had to play with the math for about an hour to figure everything out so I could make them. But they are interesting to make. You reconstitute the drug with sterile water, then pull up part of the solution in the vial in a syringe and qs with water to make the new concentration. Then pull part of the drug from the syrings into another syringe and qs again with more sterile water to get you final concentrations. And you have to be super careful not to even potentially contaminate anything because it is being shot into someone's eye.

So, so far, that was the most interesting thing I have done today.

Syringes! Egad. I have a fear of the needle. Ranks right up there with my fear of spiders.

Um...well, I didn't do anything, but the most interesting thing that's happening right now is that the heating in my apartment has stopped, and I don't know why. I first noticed it was getting chilly about 40 minutes ago...and the heat still hasn't come back on. Hopefully this is just a hiccup in the system somewhere.

Oh well. It could be worse. At least it's not the middle of January.

After three weeks from start to finish, I finished and posted the for the Cantina.

Well, I haven't done anything yet, and most of the interesting things today will be annoying or downright unpleasant, but this afternoon I'm heading off to the Drakensberg for the weekend, where we're gonna do a little climbing. Somewhere around the Amphitheatre, a world heritage site.



Then, on Monday, I'm gonna be out of a job as the company I work for goes bust.

So I'm gonna be MIA until I get a new job. Expecting to be back by February at the latest though, so don't mourn me. I promise to be back. Anyway, there's better explanations posted on the Watch in the "How do you feel" thread, and I don't feel much like repeating them in detail. I'll be fine, I'll try visit from time to time, my e-mail address will always be valid, and I'll be back early next year. Promise.

I have done absolutely nothing of interest yet...just a routine day at work (so far).

Oh, and my heating did come back on late last night, but at a feeble level. You wouldn't know it was on unless you felt the radiator directly. Hopefully the heat will be back to normal by the time I go home.

Well, today's most interesting thing was taking Beorn to the pediatrician. He started crying out in pain due to what he says is pain in his right ear. This is the child who has never complained of ear pain, not even when he had a raging infection as an infant and toddler.

Doctor says there is a little fluid, but nothing to cause him to cry out the way he has occasionally throughout the day. Said to treat with tylenol or motrin if it keeps him awake at night.

Still...I'm glad I brought him with the weekend approaching. Just in case it was serious and may have gotten worse.

I got a haircut, which is interesting since it's the first one I've had in 8 months!
