One time, driving one of the kids back to college, I swear there was a hawk in a tree every four or five miles.

It's snowing here today -- our first accumulation of the season. And it's been so cold that the snow began to stick immediately. :shock:

They're calling for an inch or two total. I'm expecting that getting home will be a nightmare. And I've got to go to the grocery store tonight and get fresh cilantro in order to make dip to take to a party tomorrow night. I guess I'll walk over to the local grocery rather than getting in the car. At least I'm not shopping for bread, milk, or toilet paper -- that stuff will all be long gone before I get off work.... :lol:

This is one storm we are lucky enough to miss. It hit Chicago, but passed to the south of us, spreading snow and freezing rain across Kentucky and West Virginia. The sky looks really strange today, but no ice or snow. :mrgreen:

Why do people out in the DC area make a run on bread, milk, and TP when it snows, Ali?

I just received a $30 Office Depot gift card in the mail!

They had a promotion for a sweepstakes where you earned one if you were among the first 300 to register, and when I registered I was told I was one of that first 300. But they later posted that there was a glitch, and I never received a confirmation email. So I am totally taken aback that I was sent one. I'm guessing they decided to issue one to everyone who received that message. Now that is keeping your customers happy!

I pretty much agree with you, Duchess -- TCG was great.

So...my knee's better today, but a couple of days ago it started hurting for no apparent reason. Not the joint, but lower -- maybe where something hooks to my shin bone. Lateral movements were no fun. Bending the knee and rotating it outward (think Tree pose in yoga) at the same time was painful. I put on my trusty knee brace and took some ibuprofen and tried not to bend it so that it hurt, and it's a lot better today. Not the first time it's happened. Anybody have any idea what's going on? (Like y'all are medical folks. Or like Duchess is an orthopedist. But anyway.)
