Hi, all! I just came back from spending the weekend in Atlanta with a bunch of Hatrackers - we were there from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening, actually, to allow for driving time from south Florida (left for Atlanta Thursday pm, returned Monday pm).

We called it "Wenchcon" (loooong story) and spent the weekend engaged in LOTR activities - viewing FOTR and TTT extended edition all day Sat, dressing up in costume to attend ROTK (not the first viewing for most of us!), a fencing lesson Sun am, playing with LOTR action figures, and so forth. And of course lots of just being together and enjoying each other's company.

We had a great time!!!

Hi duchess-very glad u're back safe and sound! . Hey I think congratulations are definately in order 4 Lord Pilot Highdrake-He has taken our brand new Le Guin forum and turned it into the 4th most popular Quicktime forum in no time flat! . I think he does a great job with both of his forums. Especially Fravashi, coming up with all of those topics that make people think. Can't be easy... ******************************************************

Danlo, I have one thing to say to you from here in the Land of the Ice and Snow ---

They did a weather statistics program on one of the local channels and it has been above freezing here for a total of six hours since Christmas. ******************************************************

It really is a heat wave here -- made it above freezing. I didn't even have to wear a coat, just a sweater...

We had an ice storm last night, so the kids didn't have school. I took my little son out to lunch at the bakery (the older one didn't want to come, was afraid it would screw up his wrestling weight). I just had a bread bowl of soup, but the little guy had a cinnamon sticky bun as big around as his head, a chocolate stuffed croissant, a cheese stuffed croissant, a huge slab of shortbread as big as my hand, and a slab of frosted brownie as big as a piece of pie. And he washed it all down with milk. He was very happy! And it cheered me up quite a bit, too. ******************************************************
