we had an absolutely awesome Halloween .. we carved the grooviest pumpkins .. into the scariest pumpkin heads ever .. we bobbed for apples, <i got mine only minutes before i drowned> LOL .. we told the kids the Celtic origins of All Hallows Even ..we went out the back and built a fire and toasted marshmallows and told scary-ass stories that spooked the kids ..

we sang songs, road on broomsticks and had an all round excellent evening!!!

: Sounds like a nice time, Sky. Further up, and further in!

I'm from Boston. I dont pronounce my R's. I call a garbage can a barrel, a liquor store a packie, a water fountain a bubbla, a milkshake a frappe. I root for a team who has not won a World Series since 1918. To me Cape Cod is a little piece of Heaven down here on Earth. The best place to be on a summer night is Fenway. I ride on the T. I know better than to swim in the Charles River. I yell YANKEES SUCK! when the Red Sox are playing the Tigers. I am a Bostonian and I'm wicked proud of it.

I fell in the pool for Halloween. It was cold. *sigh* Why is it that I can never have a fun Halloween?

Yes Neverness is Zindell--as a matter of fact this entire board is themed around the Neverness books-look at the opening banner! The name of this place comes from the Requiem for Homo Sapiens trilogy which follows Neverness. *****

What if you substituted the word "kipper" for "leper" in Sky's sig?

Smoke me a leper, I'll be back for breakfast.

Hmm... you could do that with a lot of things, I guess.

(Don't blame me for my insanity, blame the cheez-its.) "Where are you going?"
"To be an idiot."

Sounds like everyone has a better Halloween than I did -- I was all set to hand out candy when Calibaby got home from work -- he took one look at me, put his hand and my forehead and ordered me back to bed for another nap.

I might not be around much for a few days...I have a major project to do that I've been putting off -- but a FUN major project. I have a bunch of pictures on discs for my digital camera that I need to print out and put in photo albums. They are from my trip to South Dakota last June. Since Damelon and I both make a hobby of photography, I want them ready to be seen when he arrives next month.

And be warned -- you might just get a picture of Mt. Rushmore or a bull buffalo or a mountain goat in your mailbox in the next few days if you are in my email directory.

When I get back, I have a bunch of quotes ready to post in Simmons and LeGuin forums... ******************************************************

Perhaps I'll come for you myself some night. You ought to see me...my fur is white now, pale as snow, but the stature, the majesty, the power, those have not left me...We are the direwolves, the nightmares who haunt your racial memories, the dark shapes circling endlessly beyond the light of your fires.~George R.R. Martin

Got started on my little project last night and I am enjoying it. And I did send out a few pictures to relatives and friends.

My project is coming right along -- I have gone through a disc and a half now (I had three 64 megabyte discs). I will be alone in the house all day Saturday -- the family is going to a huge wrestling tournament in Ohio and leaving me at home -- so I hope to finish and be back around this weekend or early next week. My kids have half days and parent teacher conferences the next two days, though, so I won't be around much those two days -- or get much work done, either.
And I still have all of those quotes to post in LeGuin and Simmons. ******************************************************

Just sitting here this afternoon, watching the fierce winds blow and the snow sprinkling down... ******************************************************
