Welcome! 2 the Hangar Ms. Duck! And now Danlo looked in that direction, too. He remembered that snowy owls mate in the darkest part of deep winter, and so along with this beautiful white bird perched in a tree a hundred feet away, he turned to face the sea as he watched and waited. Ahira, Ahira, he called out silently to the sky. Ahira, Ahira

Hi everyone in the Hangar,
using this like an introduction thread. Referred here by Zahir, waves to David . As my signature indicates I am a pretty big BtVS fan, still reeling a little from the finale. But in a good way. Was, or am, fan of X files, Millenium, Angel the Series, Forever Knight, Babylon 5, Star Trek TNG, DS9, but Voyager and Enterprise less so.

I do read and get involved with other things. I am currently reading LoTR, for the first time, amazingly, after almost 35 years of reading SciFi and stuff. Well, some of us are late bloomers and everything. If anyone would care my all time favorite SciFi author is Robert A. Heinlein, IMO, modern American SciFi is the way it is today because of him. He wrote in every sub category, juvenile and young adult, hard science fiction, new wave, a true scifi literary giant and genius.

Over the last year I have started attending Cons. Went to Wiscon last weekend (May 23 - 26) in Madison, Wisconsin www.sf3.org/wiscon. Loscon, www.loscon.org, in California over last Thanksgiving weekend. Windycon, www.windycon.org, in 2002 and planning to go again 2003. Volunteering, gophering, sometimes, too.

Did not mean the links above to site type notices, just reference for my intro. So hope I am not out of line here. Well, this has gone on long enuff. Probably boring everyone to tears. See everyone on the boards. Edited by: taraswizard at: 6/1/03 6:15:14 am

Well, oddly enough, I do have training as a pilot. I'm a brawn for my ship, (a brawn is the protector of the ship and the dragon that keeps the ship running.) A certain 12-year-old Raver informed me of this place, and I figured I'd check it out.

This place is really wonderful!

'Tis good to meet a like mind this far into space.

Hi. My name is Marcus. I'm 24 and I am a big Sci Fi/Fantasy lover. Moreso the latter than the former. I'm an English major from New York. Here's a list of the fantasy/sci-fi books I have indulged myself in

Lewis- The Chronicles of Narnia
Tolkien- The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Silmarilion
Adams- The Hitchhiker Chronicles (except for Mostly Harmless)
Jordan- The Wheel of Time (all 10)
Williams- The Otherland saga
King- The Dark Tower (and MANY others)
Wells- The Time Machine and War of the Worlds
Bradbury- The Martian Chronicles

and I have on my "to read" list so far all three books of ASOIAF and the first two Sword of Truth novels.

Welcome, Masterthes. You've come to the right spot. Feel free to strike up a conversation on Adams (big fan), Wells, and Bradbury in the General Sci-Fi. ________________

I don't know if we have a Rowling topic but you can always start 1! And now Danlo looked in that direction, too. He remembered that snowy owls mate in the darkest part of deep winter, and so along with this beautiful white bird perched in a tree a hundred feet away, he turned to face the sea as he watched and waited.
