Up all night with a sick kid (even though he is nearly 21 he is still my baby when he gets sick!). Going to call the doctor again in a few minutes and see if I can get him in there today; if not I will take him to an urgent care center. He has been showing all of the classic symptoms of the flu for a good week but last night at 2AM he started puking really bad - a new and unpleasant (especially for him) turn of events. The on-call doc says that it sounds like he has the swine flu which has been going around, and to get him in to see someone today. :(

 Hope fervently that it's just a mild case of the swine flu for your son...though the puking part sounds serious.

Took him to an urgent care center this morning; their diagnosis was secondary infection following a probable swine flu infection. Guess those nasty colds he and I have been fighting all week were actually the swine flu! They have him on a strong antibiotic called azithromycin; hopefully with a lot of rest and fluids he will be fine in a day or so!

That's good news, if he might fully recover after a couple of days. Got my fingers crossed for him! If you had the swine flu as well, duchess - and you've obviously survived - then it's great news for you, too. I mean, you'd be immune to it now, right?

I talked to a friend yesterday who was down with the swine flu a couple of weeks ago. Apparently sore eyes (like severe eyestrain, day after day) is one telltale symptom of the swine variety. She's fine now.

I stayed up 'til 1:30am finishing up the yogurt making (I need to make it a goal to start the process earlier in the day!) so got only about 4 hours sleep last night. :nightcap: Luckily it's a federal holiday today, so traffic this morning was light. I got to work a half-hour early and got permission from my attorneys to leave a half-hour early, too. Despite the lack of sleep, I powered through the corporate card vouchers for both of my attorneys and got a bunch of other paperwork done. Go me!

Such enthusiasm for work is disturbing, aliantha. :P

I had about 5 hours of sleep (by choice). Today's a holiday for me, so it didn't matter. I was gonna head out earlier, but then it started snowing. Sheesh. I'm not afraid of snow, just ticked off that's happening in early October. Spent the day listening to the Beatles remasters - just finished Abbey Road. (And wouldn't you know it, as "Here Comes The Sun" was playing, sunshine peeked through the window.)

Do! It's make do! (Sorry Menolly...it just always leaps out and bugs me when you say make "due." You have no idea how many times I've edited your posts to fix it.)

Carry on, ya middle agers.

Having bifocals means you can peer over them at people in that cross way when you get annoyed, yes?

Not sure how I feel about bifocals. Not sure how I feel about middle age either, except that it's getting closer. Or maybe I'm already there. Too bad I can't set my alarm to it.

Middle age has not offically hit until you wake up every morning for at least a week after work with every bit of your body aching. :P
