It has taken us a good week, but we have finally caught up with the Hudson Valley spring here in lower Michigan. A lot chillier than New York was for Highdrake's wedding, but our tulips and flowering trees are now out in their glory. :D 8)

Most excellent, duchess!

It's been a gorgeous day here. Right now it's 18 Celsius! That's T-shirt weather around here. The birds are chirping, and there are patches of green here and there, but no major blooming yet - probably not for another two weeks.

First day back at work yesterday. I only worked for 4 hours, plus commute time. And didn't work that hard, either - I have to catch up with paperwork and continuing ed I missed while I was out, so I only spoke with one outpatient. Then came home and went to a PT appointment.

By 7pm I was ready to crash. :?:

I had no idea going back to work for half days was going to be this tiring. :(

Yup, it's baby steps, alright. ;)

Today, though, I discovered I can go up a flight of steps. I decided to try walking up one floor at work when I was called to another unit. Up to now, I have only attempted walking down steps.

And I have been asked if I would like to switch from per diem to part time. It would be 20 hours a week minimum with benefits and paid leave (once I accrue hours for it). Less freedom to take off when I want, but then again, I always schedule my work days way in advance so I don't know that it will be that different, with the exception of the minimum hours requirement. And I can get a raise on my next eval (after all this time). Never had a raise since I started there, as the hospital has not increased the per diem rate in years.

What do you all think?

Yay! It's the May long weekend here! The official holiday is Monday - Victoria Day.

I hope the weather warms up for it.

How about the US? S. Africa? the UK? You have May long weekends as well?

Not until the end of the month and Memorial Day here in the US. :)

(And I get to work the Sunday and Monday that weekend this year anyway :| ).

Ours is on the 1st. Or at least, the 1st is a public holiday...(Workers day iirc)...it's only a long weekend if it falls on a friday or monday. (Or Sunday...if a public holiday here falls on a sunday, the monday is automatically a holiday.

Canada celebrates May Day as well though, right?
I think Victoria Day is a second May holiday for them.
